Best Practices for Booking your Driving Lesson: Driving lessons take a lot of energy and mental focus and results tend to be better when you have full days dedicated to preparing for and taking the lesson.

Ben bought his first RV in 2010 and started full time RVing in 2014. When he started full time RVing he already had a CDL and a lot of training from school bus driving. From school bus driving he learned more about the technical aspects of driving a large vehicle and enjoys teaching the maneuvers he learned through that training. When he went full time RVing in 2014 it filled a passion that he had desired to pursue for a long time. Through full time RVing and work camping he started learning maintenance, repairs and learned how to modify his RV for his travel style and wants. Work camping has taken him to some amazing locations all across the country and has allowed him to work a multitude of job positions including driving large vehicles.

I had my first day of driving school today. I want to compliment my teacher, Ben Cabutage. I had never even sat in the driver’s seat of our Winnebago Vista 31B, yet alone start the engine. He was thorough, patient, excellent preloading and feedback of each lesson. I’m proud of myself and looking forward to tomorrow’s continuing education. Thank you for my teacher, Ben, in Medora, ND.

We cannot say enough good things about our RV Driving Class with Benjamin. He communicated with us prior to the class so that we were all on the same page, he arrived before we did both days and had already driven around to scope out where we would do our parking lot work and out on the roads. He was incredibly thorough and patient with us. We learned tons about our RV, but also about our brand-new Ford truck’s towing and braking capabilities.
I have two suggestions for additional topics. One is on road/weather conditions–things like wind considerations, bridge and tunnel concerns, construction–stuff like that. The other is on the bridge weight restriction signs–how to understand the signs for weigh restrictions.
Otherwise, we had an awesome experience and certainly feel more confident behind the wheel. Thanks again!!

My husband & I completed an 8 hour RV Driving course yesterday with Ben Cabutage! He was great!! I can’t say enough about his professionalism. What I loved about Ben is that he is aware that people have different styles of learning & he really tuned in how to teach us to handle our big 5th wheel. He went above & beyond. Thanks Ben I feel much safer now.

Hello, My name is Jerry and I took one of your classes on June 8th 2025. My instructor was Ben Cabutage. I very much enjoyed the class and Ben was a very good teacher. We went over a lot of things in four hours. I had time to practice each move several times. Sometimes it takes me a while to absorb what is being taught. When we finished I drove to my campground and promptly forgot everything I was taught. To back into my space it was a blind back in. I had cars in the way and lots of people watching. I was tired and so was my wife. I finally got in the space and all was good. I need to think about what I learned and unlearn the bad things I taught myself over the years. I know in the future backing will be easier as I practice what I have learned. Thanks for being there. Jerry

Ben was very informative there was a lot of great information that will come in handy as our rv ages. Ben was very personable and made us very comfortable and put us at ease.
We would Highly recommend the course even if you are an experienced driver. Knowledge is power!

I am very glad I took these lessons. For me, the format was a good blend of learning about my RV, it’s capabilities and then real driving on the streets and highways.
I had very limited experience and by the end of the lessons I felt comfortable driving my rig. Now it is a matter of getting experience,
Excellent teacher!

I wanted to write to commend you on an excellent experience with your driving school and in particular with my instructor, Ben. You could classify me as downright scared before the lesson began thinking about driving my renegade Verona in any kind of public setting. The curriculum of book knowledge, practical exercises, and hands-on training in a traffic setting were the perfect combination to restore my confidence. Ben was patient and kind, made corrections when needed, and supplied many helpful techniques to remember the skills I learned.
Thank you all so much for a great and worthwhile experience!
Maureen
